Our interview process is not an information session. To get an inside look into the Esper Studio, sign up for a First Look. If you have any questions about the Esper Studio or our programs that will help you make your decision, please setup a call with our admissions team.
Once your application has been successfully submitted, you will be contacted to schedule an interview within 72 hours. Please call the studio office at 212.904.1350 if you do not hear from us within that time period. All interview times are scheduled in EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST).

Applying to
Esper Studio
The Esper Studio offers one of the most comprehensive training programs in the world for professional actors, and is considered the foremost studio dedicated to Meisner-based actor training.
The Esper Studio is open to all who intend to seriously pursue professional actor training, regardless of experience. We do not hold auditions. Acceptance is based on our interview process.

The Admissions Interview
Once your application has been reviewed and determined to be complete, you will receive a call or email to schedule an in-person or Zoom interview (for those outside New York) with our Admissions Liaison. The focus of this interview is for us to learn more about you and your desire to pursue the craft of acting.

Prepare for your Interview
Prior to your interview, we ask that all prospective students read or listen to The Actor's Art & Craft, available in hard copy, digital, and audio versions. This is the best way to learn about training at Esper Studio. We also recommend reading these articles, written by William Esper, to understand the underlying principles of training at our Studio. This research can also be done prior to submitting your application, to help inform your decision.

The Admissions Decision
An admissions decision will be made following the interview. For the Two-Year Program, prospective students will be scheduled for an additional interview with an Acting Faculty member to confirm Acting Class placement.

Obtaining Visas (International Students)
Upon acceptance to our programs, the Esper Studio is authorized to issue I-20’s for international students to apply for M-1 student visas. All necessary information will be provided by our Student Visa Coordinator.
